Wrap Up Women's History Month with Wholesale Blazy Susan Rolling Papers & Cones!

Based out of the Mile-High city of Denver, Colorado, Blazy Susan was founded in 2017 by William Breakell who is not only a pioneering young entrepreneur but a Virginia Military Institute graduate. Breakell determined that course wasn’t for him and opted for perhaps something the farthest away from military life: producing the very first purple rolling papers to hit the market. But really, how did this journey begin?

Like any good idea, Blazy Susan began with a pun. The simple version of the story is that Breakell peered at his chaotic coffee table, came up with the play on “Lazy Susan” and decided to address the problem of messy stoners. Assuming that wives and girlfriends of regular smokers didn’t smoke, Breakell was attempting to not only create a solution for clutter, but target a group oft forget by the smoking industry: women. Specifically women who had smokers in their lives. It started with a tray to help organize smoking accessories – one that’s so tried and true that it’s still available for purchase on Blazy Susan’s retail website.

There couldn’t have been a more natural transition to producing pink rolling papers after the original spark of inspiration for the Blazy tray. Breakell’s mother is a breast cancer survivor and the production of pink rolling papers for breast cancer awareness was a cause close to his heart and an obvious next step. Not to mention, it was, in Breakell’s own words, “a fun way to have a unique impact on the industry”. With this wholesome and meaningful cause at the forefront, Blazy drove growth via collaboration with its’ users, known as the Blazy Gang.

This collaboration led to producing non-GMO, non-chlorinated and vegan papers after just two years of development and beyond that, shaking up the industry with the very first purple papers and cones. Purple was a suggestion from members of the treasured Blazy Gang and, because nothing is without a deeper significance at Blazy Susan, the purple color represents mental health. The combination of fun and importance is a staple at Blazy and is something that Breakell prides himself and the company on saying that they’re, “a brand that is very welcoming not just to women but to everybody”. The retro, feel-good vibe of the brand’s packaging certainly contributes to those elements of inclusivity and enjoyment.

Blazy Susan really puts their money where their mouth is with Blazy Gives Back initiatives. During April, a portion of proceeds are donated to One Tree Planted which prioritizes sustainability by supporting global reforestation efforts and restoring vital ecosystems. During May and September (Mental Health Awareness month and Suicide Prevention month), a percentage of profits from purple papers and cones are donated to NAMI, the Trevor Project and other charities that provide valuable mental health resources. And finally, in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, sales from pink papers and cones contribute to the Lynn Sage Foundation and other breast cancer research groups. This doesn’t even include that year-round, Blazy donates proceeds from the unbleached line to the Last Prisoner Project and 40Tons, who both support justice for nonviolent cannabis offenders.
