The New Puffco Pivot Goes in the Right Direction
Puffco rarely fails to deliver on their new launches and they certainly didn’t choose now to start. In the past year, they’ve primarily opted to release different colorways or different versions of existing products in the form of the Flourish and Storm for Puffco Peak Pro and Proxy and creating new editions of the original Peak and Ryan Fitt attachment. While those are exciting in their own right, Puffco chose to change their direction with the aptly named Pivot and created a product that combined the strength of the Peak Pro’s 3D chamber, some of the modularity of the Proxy and the portability of the Plus, all for a reasonable, middle-of-the-road price. Let’s take a deep dive into the features of this affordable powerhouse.
Unlike its older counterpart, the Pivot features haptic feedback, a visual dab timer and real time temperature control, all at the touch of a single button. With four heat settings rather than three, the powerful 3D chamber, likely inspired by that of the Peak Pro’s, preserves cannabinoids and terpenes for bigger vapor clouds and top notch flavor. Similar to the Peak Pro, there is also a Boost Mode for bigger hits and a Disco Mode for a party in your hand. But the Pivot just keeps turning in different directions, living even more up to its name by also being somewhat modular when used with the new Glass Adapter. This allows the unit to be used with a glass water pipe and function similarly to an e-nail, treating the end user can experience the benefit of water-filtrated dabs.
It's pretty clear that the Pivot was designed to fill in the gap between the simplest of all-in-one dab pens and the most high-tech electronic dab rigs but let’s get more into the nitty gritty details of this wax pen that just doesn’t wane on quality. Ironically, the Plus has the fewest features with no water filtration ability, the shortest heat cycle duration (though the fastest heat-up time) and up to 30 fixed heat cycles on a single charge. The Pivot matches both Peaks and the Proxy at 4 heat settings, matches the Proxy at 15 heat cycles and matches the Peak Pro at a 20 second heat-up time, not really falling short anywhere. The only improvement it could possibly make that would bring it to the upper echelons of dabbing experiences would be making it app-enabled like the Peak Pro. It is still the truest of the true mobile vaporizers, though, with as much of the best of both worlds that you can get.
With this latest drop of Pivot perfection came new accessories! Because what’s better than glamming out your set-up? Add-ons include the aforementioned Glass Adapter, the new Travel Case featuring a hard shell for ready for any adventure, the less glitzy but essential 3D Chamber 2-pack, which makes pre-loading and swapping out a breeze, and the soft silicone Mouthpiece 2-pack with a threadless cap closure. These common-sense improvements continue to consistently position Puffco ahead of other vape brands.
